6061 Aluminum in the -T6511, or extruded, condition is both versatile and corrosion resistant.  It offers a wide range of mechanical properties and can be fabricated by many commonly used techniques. It is weldable in all conditions, formable in the annealed condition and more machinable in the aged condition.
