Aluminum Sheet 6061 T6

6061 Aluminum is one of the most versatile of the heat treatable aluminum alloys. It has good corrosion resistance, good weldability, decent machining and mild forming. Its increased strength makes it a good alternative over 3003 as long as formability and finish do not preclude.

Specifications:

ASTM B209
AMS QQ A 250/11

Applications:

6061 is used in truck bodies and frames where appearance, corrosion resistance, and good strength are required. The T6 temper improves strength but makes forming more restricted.

How To Measure:

T (Thickness) X W (Width) X L (Length)

Chemistry: Less than 3/4" thick
  • Copper .15/.40
  • Silicon .40/.80
  • Iron .70 max
  • Manganese .15 max
  • Magnesium .80/1.20
  • Zinc .25 max
